REEFolution is a Kenyan-based NGO aiming to restore and stimulate a more sustainable use of coral reefs along the South Kenyan Coastline. REEFolution, works in partnership with local communities and marine scientists to spread awareness of coral reefs and to actively restore coral reefs using a variety of science-based methods.

In Kenya, REEFolution have trained more than fifteen ocean ambassadors, called 'REEF Rangers'. Together, they create a movement of positive change. They restore their reefs, re-educate their community and reinvigorate the lives of many.

In 2023, Mars Sustainable Solutions formed a partnership with REEFolution with the aim of expanding coral restoration efforts along the East African coast. In 2024, after observing the success of the pilot Reef Star build that took place in 2023, two reef rangers from the REEFolution team were trained by MSS Staff in Reef Star fabrication and installation. As part of their training,  a further 100 Reef Stars were installed on the degraded reef of Shimoni, outplanting approximately 1,500 coral fragments.
